A thrilling opportunity to worship WITH brothers and sisters in Bethlehem through modern technology will take place on Saturday, December 18 – locally at 10 a.m. at Washington National Cathedral.

Bishop Graham of the Metro D.C. Synod and the Rev. Mark S. Hanson, presiding bishop, ELCA, will both participate from the Cathedral in this fourth annual joint simulcast. Bishop Munib Younan of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jordan and the Holy Land and president of the Lutheran World Federation, and the Rev. Mitri Raheb of Bethlehem’s Christmas Lutheran Church, will participate from the Christmas Lutheran Church in Bethlehem along with the Episcopal Bishop in Jerusalem, Suheil Dawani. Episcopal leaders participating here are Presiding Bishop Katherine Jefferts Schori, Bishop John Bryson Chane, and Dean Samuel T. Lloyd.

Raise our voices in praise with those in the town where Jesus was born at this service. “Bethlehem service brings the Holy Land home” is an article with some additional background in the Washington Window (November/December 2010), an online publication of the Episcopal Diocese of Washington.
