The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America needs leaders who are grounded in

"What Shall I Say?" is a short book designed to help people discern God's call and to better understand candidacy requirements. Persons planning to enter seminary begin in cooperation with a synod Candidacy Committee. The preparation process leading up to a meeting with the Candidacy Committee takes about nine months, at which time the committee gives you an "entrance decision." To get the process rolling, your first step after speaking with your congregation's pastor is to meet with staff at the synod office.
