We teach good stewardship with the expectation that people will become more generous and joyful givers. We expect that members will automatically give to the work of the congregation, but that is increasingly not what happens.
J. Clif Christopher will help us think through how congregations can help work towards both the maturing of generous hearts and the desire to give toward the mission of the Church with a pre-event in our synod for Lutherans to the national Generosity NOW Conference.

April 25-27, 2017 – Ecumenical Stewardship Event in Washington, D.C.
Generosity NOW Conference, formerly the North American Conference on Christian Philanthropy, has been a premiere Ecumenical Stewardship Center event for decades. The Rev. Phil Hirsch, synod Director for Evangelical Mission, says, “Normally, you have to travel to Kansas City or Toronto, but in April 2017 they will be hosted in D.C.!”
Laypersons, pastors and staff who attend Generosity NOW increase their knowledge about spiritual principles and best practices relating to faithful stewardship and generous giving through plenary sessions, workshops and worship.
