In Sunday’s Washington Post, the “multibillion-dollar transformation over the next 10 to 15 years” in Southwest Washington was described in an article by Derek Kravitz (“The Emerging Southwest: Transformation Underway,” 9/26/10). Plans for St. Matthew’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, with property on M Street in the area, were described in the article. These include the Thurgood and Cecilia Marshall Southwest Community Center, apartments, and an open church fellowship hall and sanctuary for community meetings and performances.

Members of the congregation presently worship with their neighbors at First Trinity Lutheran Church in Northwest Washington.
