In congregations and in synod-sponsored activities, our youth are valued and celebrated, with many opportunities for faith formation, leadership development and service learning.

At annual events like Chi Rho, Chrysalis and Shekinah, youth get together with kids their age from around the area for a fun and fabulous picture of what Christ is doing among us.

The mega 2009 ELCA Youth Gathering was a terrific success this year, exploring “Jesus Justice Jazz” in New Orleans, a center of devastation and recovery from Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. Youth learned about serving others in the manner of Jesus, and the promises of God’s presence in the world.
