DESCRIPTION:The Metro D.C. Synod will have representation at this year’s Capital Pride Parade and Festival\, and we’d love for you to join us! Email Pr. Moses Barrios\, Reconciling in Christ (RIC) Table liaison\, in the synod office with any questions: mbarrios@metrodcelca.org. \nParade\nTo volunteer for the parade\, email Caitlin Thistle at newman.caitlin.09@gmail.com. \nFriday\, June 19 \nTo help DECORATE our truck\, meet at St. Paul’s Lutheran in D.C. (4900 Connecticut Ave NW) at 6:30 p.m. \nSaturday\, June 20 \nTo MARCH with us\, meet at Augustana Lutheran in D.C. (2100 New Hampshire Ave NW) at 12 p.m. We will walk to the staging area together well before the parade starts at 3 p.m. \nWear a bold color or a church shirt and bring a sign! Clergy are highly encouraged to join and wear their clerics. \nOur theme is God Loves You As You Are! Consider signs with messages like\, “We are all created in the image of God\,” “You are a beloved child of God\,” and “You are wonderfully made.” \nLuther Place (1226 Vermont Ave. NW) is located on the parade route and will be offering their building as a waypoint for folks to access bathrooms\, air conditioning\, water\, food\, and friendly and welcoming conversation. Please sign up if you might drop by so they can plan accordingly. \nFestival\nTo volunteer for the festival\, email Logan Wescott at info@sharingpeace.org. \nSunday\, June 21\, 12-10 p.m. \nWe’re looking for a volunteer to set up the booth in the morning with materials that will be provided as well as volunteers to help “staff” the booth.
