Feeding Neighbors: Hope, College Park, MD

Along with other faith communities, Hope Lutheran Church and Student Center is a regular supporter of Prince George’s Plaza Community Day Center, serving food, offering showers, laundry and other supports to neighbors in need. One Tuesday a month, Hope’s volunteers organize to prepare, serve, and clean up after a meal for 25-35 neighbors. Over the years, Hope has gotten to know many of the regular guests, learned favorite foods, and seen the day center shift in response to various needs. The synod’s Feeding Our Neighbors Together grant supported the faithful and ongoing work of this day center.
