& Mission Support

Creating a Culture of Generosity

The Stewardship and Mission Support Table gathers to pray for the people and ministries of our synod and to offer support and encouragement. We strive to create life giving ways to invite people into relationship with God and our neighbors and to experience the joy of generosity and storytelling.

Our focus is on sharing stories and equipping leaders and congregations in the many facets of stewardship and generosity.

Apply for New Stewardship Grants

Please take a few minutes to review the informational session video prior to applying for a grant!

The Stewardship and Mission Support Table (SMST) is offering two types of stewardship-specific grant opportunities:

  • Stewardship Educational/Training Grants will be given in $150 increments per congregation. These grants can use any reputable source for their content, but the source should be shared as part of the plan outline.
  • Small Dream/Passion Project/Experimentation Grants for new stewardship related ideas that have not previously been implemented in your setting. Not all dreams need to be grand—this is a chance to focus on a small, achievable, idea that your congregation may not have financial support. These grants will be provided in tiers of $250/$500/$1,000.

Please apply by December 31, 2023. Responses to all applicants will be made no later than January 15, 2024 with fund dispersal no later than January 31, 2024. If funds are needed for a project before January, the Table will respond before January 15.

Request a Mentor!

Rev. David Shank and Bob Sargeant from the SMST have offered to serve as mentors to walk through the application process with all congregations who request one. If you would like a mentor for this process or have any questions, please email stewardship @metrodcelca.org.
