Celebration of the Ordination of Pastor Ray Ranker, Lutheran Campus Ministry
The staff, students, and members of the directing committee of Lutheran Campus Ministry at the University of Maryland invite you and your congregation to join the celebration of Pastor Ray Ranker’s 10th anniversary of Ordination and his ministry as Lutheran Chaplain at the University of Maryland.
These have been ten years of worship with students, staff, friends, and other members of the Humble Walk community. Ten years of transformative experiences of service, learning, and exploration for students, travelling together around the country and around the world. Ten years of Bible study, conversation, and reflection in small groups. Ten years of En Camino and the CARing Project, connecting college students and local elementary school students in ways which sustain them both. Ten years of a bold shared witness to God’s love in Jesus Christ among the entire university community. Ten years of close partnership with Hope Lutheran Church and Student Center. Ten years of work for public justice within the College Park community and beyond.
The event will be held at the Memorial Chapel on the University of Maryland Campus on Saturday, September 18th from 2:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Light refreshments will be provided, followed by a service of music and tributes. A virtual option will be offered.
