Our synod is enriched by Companion Synod ties with Lutherans in Namibia. Help us welcome Bishop Ernest //Gamxamub [click language spelling] of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in the Republic of Namibia (ELCRN) and ELCRN Finance Minister Leonard de Vries while they are in our area May 1-5. They will greet us at several opportunities. “All are welcome!” says Kathryn Tobias of the synod Global Missions Team.

  • MONDAY MAY 2 at 7 p.m. – Vespers & Reception at Lutheran Church of the Reformation on Capitol Hill. Bishop //Gamxamub will offer a homily.
  • WEDNESDAY MAY 4 at 9:30 a.m. – Devotions & Talk at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Springfield, Virginia.
  • From the Rev. Bob Allard, Global Missions Team:”Bishop Ernst //Gamxamub and Finance Director Leonard de Vries of the ELCRN will be special guests at the Fairfax Conference meeting on Wednesday, May 4, 9:30 a.m. Our Metro D.C. Synod has a Companion Synod relationship with ELCRN. Bishop //Gamxamub is charismatic leader of his church. He is a gifted singer. He will deliver the message during the devotional.
