Our synod is enriched by Companion Synod ties with Lutherans in Namibia. Help us welcome Bishop Ernest //Gamxamub [click language spelling] of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in the Republic of Namibia (ELCRN) and ELCRN Finance Minister Leonard de Vries while they are in our area May 1-5. They will greet us at several opportunities. “All are welcome!” says Kathryn Tobias of the synod Global Missions Team.

  • MONDAY MAY 2 at 7 p.m. – Vespers & Reception at Lutheran Church of the Reformation on Capitol Hill. Bishop //Gamxamub will offer a homily.
  • WEDNESDAY MAY 4 at 9:30 a.m. – Devotions & Talk at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Springfield, Virginia.
  • From the Rev. Bob Allard, Global Missions Team:”Bishop Ernst //Gamxamub and Finance Director Leonard de Vries of the ELCRN will be special guests at the Fairfax Conference meeting on Wednesday, May 4, 9:30 a.m. Our Metro D.C. Synod has a Companion Synod relationship with ELCRN. Bishop //Gamxamub is charismatic leader of his church. He is a gifted singer. He will deliver the message during the devotional. He will tell about his country and his church. His English is superb. This highlight event is open to all rostered leaders of the Metro D.C. Synod.
