Reflections shared from our opening Festive Eucharist.

Prayers of intercession: Petitions were delivered as various readers came to the microphones around the room. They lifted up the diversity of our global community the reasons for which God’s healing is essential. You could witness how our calling, as God’s Hands on earth, is to work relentlessly for that healing.

We used Spanish as well as English throughout the worship liturgy and music. This was invigorating and awkward, all at once. There is something about feeling awkward that inspires reflection and growth. We are reminded of how many in our societies can feel marginalized by the most basic mechanics of matriculating in this shrinking world: language. I wonder how many of those gathered today resonate with this sentiment.
