God’s love breaking in – El Salvador and here
“We are the Church. And in the Church there is power.” This hope-filled declaration is asserted by Bishop Medardo Gómez of the Salvadoran Lutheran Church in a greeting via video to the congregations of the Metro D.C. Synod. The two groups share bonds through the Companion Synod program, which are being celebrated in local congregations on Sunday, January 26, 2014.

“I invite you that we walk together hand in hand – hand in hand with God to construct signs that God’s love is breaking in as Martin Luther King did and as Monsignor Romero did,” Bishop Gómez said in this video from Augustana Lutheran Church during his January 19, 2014 visit.
