Women and Self-Care Leadership Academy Session and Support Group

On April 29th at 7:00 PM, the Metro D.C. Synod will be holding a Leadership Academy webinar on Women and Self-Care. This will be an introduction to a new support group the synod will offer for rostered ministers of the ELCA. This group will specifically address those among who are dealing with cancer. It does not matter where you are in that process. The effect of cancer in our lives not disappear once the medical protocols are complete. It continues to affect our lives and the lives of our loved ones. 

Meet Our Presenter:

Deacon Kathy Garrison is a Rostered Minister of Word and Service, in the ELCA. Kathy’s first life desire was to be a nurse. She completed that education in 1969. Many years later, she entered seminary. Her education at the Virginia Theological Seminary and the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg (prior to ULS), was focused on pastoral care. She completed her field work, followed by internship, at Inova Alexandria Hospital and trained as Pastoral Care Specialists.
