Boundary & Racial Justice Training

Rostered Ministers of the Metro D.C. Synod are invited to complete their required annual Boundary Training and biennial Racial & Social Justice Training through United Lutheran Seminary. Trainings are offered online and in-person at the Gettysburg campus in October and November. Topics and dates are:

• LGBTQIAS+ Training | October 6 & 7, 8 and November 12
• Racial Justice Training | October 9, 13 & 14 and November 13
• Boundary Training | October 10, 20 & 21 and November 14

The ELCA requires these trainings for all rostered ministers. Boundary training is required every year, while specialized training focused on justice topics like racial justice, gender justice, and LGBTQIA+ justice are required every two years. These trainings can be fulfilled through whichever organization a rostered minister chooses and reported to the synod. Due to proximity, the Metro D.C. Synod shares the offerings from ULS which are offered multiple times a year to allow ministers to complete them on a rolling basis as they are due.
