Powered with Light at Reformation Lutheran
New solar panels installed on the roof of Lutheran Church of the Reformation‘s St. John Building on Capitol Hill led to prayer of thanks and celebration during worship on October 17, less than a week after their installation. This energy source will feed into the electrical service, significantly reducing the congregation’s dependence on traditional energy sources for many years to come.
The Rev. Conrad Braaten commended the entire congregation and its Council for their support in caring for God’s creation. Pr. Braaten acknowledged Michael Barrette, a solar energy expert in the congregation; Parry Carlson, Chair of the Property Committee; Ragnar Thoresen, Property Manager; and Solar Solution, a partner with the congregation for their work in bringing this project to fruition. “We look to energy savings resulting from this project,” states Diane Liesman, Parish Administrator.
