The Next Six Years as the Metro D.C. Synod
During the season of Epiphany, we are called to invite all people to “come and see” who the child laying in a manger is as we intentionally make Jesus known to the world and to ourselves.
In the spirit of this season, we invite you to “come and see” the new Metropolitan Washington, D.C. Synod mission statement and Bishop Ortiz’s priorities over the next six years.
The synod staff and council have worked together over the past few months to faithfully proclaim God’s mission for us. Not just “us” as individuals, or isolated congregations, but “us” as the collaborative church body of the Metro D.C. Synod. Together, we are the Metro D.C. Synod and together,
We invite you and your congregation to fully participate in this mission. Live into it every day, lay it on your hearts as you plan and prepare, and let it lead you to new and boundless journeys in service to God’s beloved creation.

You may have already noticed some new endeavors the Synod has initiated such as the launch of the 2020 Leadership Academy and the Prayer as Oxygen retreat this past Fall, both helping to support and develop healthy leaders within our congregations.
More is to come as we journey together and live into what God is calling us to do. Together, we are the Metro D.C. Synod.
