In the news: Youth brings shoe recycling to congregation

I never know what to do with old running shoes. Jacob Feid had a great idea. He collected shoes at Good Shepherd Lutheran (GSLC) in Gaithersburg and recycled them through a program run by Nike. Penny Risen wrote up the experience for the congregation’s newsletter, and The Lutheran magazine shared the story in “Piling up shoes,” March 2011 edition.
