Planned Giving & Endowment from Scratch

Two years ago, a few members of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Vienna, VA talked about the idea of setting up an endowment fund and encouraging fellow members to contribute planned gifts. They met ELCA Foundation Regional Gift Planner Yvonne Lembo at a planned giving workshop hosted by Metro D.C. Synod and decided to work with her on a strategy to bring their ideas to fruition.

Today, Emmanuel established an endowment fund that grew 4-fold in 4 months. Filled with hope and vision, members are investing in expanding Emmanuel’s ministry now and in the future through current and planned gifts to grow their endowment fund and distribute support for ministry.
