Local Clergy are “Rev’d Up for a Cure”
“Rev’d Up for a Cure” is a team including two local pastors who are walking in the Komen 3-Day for the Cure in memory and honor of people they have known in life and ministry. “Too many people we know have battled, continue to battle, or have lost the battle with cancer, and we are hoping to do something about that,” said the Rev. Kimberly Conway of Epiphany Lutheran Church, Dale City, Virginia.
The Komen 3-Day for the Cure began early Friday morning, October 8, 2010. Participants will continue on a 60-mile route over three days.
“[We] are asking for right now prayers for us and all of the walkers,” said Pr. Conway. She and the Rev. Stephanie Johnson of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Herndon, Virginia, “[Our] tent will be the ‘chapel,’ and we will be praying at stops and camps – remembering all of the people we do this for.”
