Video shares vitality of Companion Synod ties
“[Two] communities invested in each other that makes both of our communities stronger and rooted in each other’s vitality,” is how a Companion Synod relationship with the Salvadoran Lutheran Synod (SLS) was described by the Rev. Keith Olstad, one of the pastors on staff of St. Paul-Reformation Lutheran Church in St. Paul, Minn.
Like the Metro D.C. Synod, the Saint Paul Area Synod nurtures Companion Synod ties in El Salvador. One congregation’s inspiring experience is described in this short video, “Living Lutheran and Laying Foundations,” submitted as part of the ELCA video contest.
Want to get involved with Companion Synod activities locally? Opportunities with El Salvador, Namibia and Slovakia are described in this handout from the Metro D.C. Synod Global Missions Committee.
