2019 Metro D.C. Synod Assembly has gone mobile! Get the app on your mobile device now, for free at https://guidebook.com/g/2019metrodcsynodassembly/ (no longer active). Visit the URL, tap the “download” button to get the free Guidebook app, open Guidebook and look for the guide: 2019 Metro D.C. Synod Assembly.  NOTE: There are two versions of the Guidebook app. If you downloaded the one with the blue logo you may see the Metro D.C. Synod Assembly information, however it is not updating. The version you need is the ELCA Organizations and Events Guidebook App. It is an app inside of an app. You will know you have the correct version if you see the “Reports” section on the side contents menu. Our June Video Events Digest has a tutorial to help you find the correct version. We will also have people on hand through the conference to help if you have any problems downloading the correct version.

Registration

All attendees must register when they arrive at Synod Assembly. Due to the need to provide accurate counts for the bishop election ballots we will have to close and reopen registration throughout the assembly several times. We will close registration approximately 30 minutes before each ballot and reopen after voting. Here are the registration times based on the current schedule which is subject to change due to the flow of the plenary sessions. If you are not registered with a voting device during the registration time you will NOT be allowed to vote in any elections until you are registered during the next opening. You will only need to register once. Friday, June 14th – Registration Open 8:30am – 11:15am        12:30pm – 4:45pm        6pm-7:15pm Saturday, June 15th – Registration Open 7:00am – 1:00pm

Pre-Assembly Conference Meetings

In preparation for the assembly we wanted to make sure you knew about the Pre-Assembly Conference meetings. Each conference, by constitution, is obligated to provide a meeting before each Synod Assembly. A synod staff member attends the meeting and this year we will also have a member of the Transition Team in attendance. There are six conferences in the Metro D.C. Synod. If you are unable to attend your conference meeting the deans have agreed to open meetings to anyone who would like to attend to make sure everyone is prepared for this year’s assembly especially what the bishop election process will look like. If you attend a conference meeting that you are not a member of there may be issues that you would not be able to vote on, but you would receive a lot of the same information. All voting members should plan on attending one of the following meetings:
