Feeding Neighbors: Peace Lutheran, Alexandria, VA

Peace Lutheran Church in Alexandria, VA has been providing weekend food bags for over 20 years to Belvedere Elementary School. This ministry was started by Sue Buchanan, a former Belvedere teacher and member of Peace Church, and the ministry continues today in Sue’s memory. For over three years, Peace has been providing 100 food bags per month at a cost of approximately $3 per bag, and most recently funding from the Feeding Our Neighbors Together synod grant helped offset the cost of food.
